18 brgys ‘critical’, 71 others ‘high risk’ as COVID-19 active cases near 7K in Davao City

Davao City on Monday released its September 6 to 11, 2021 barangay classifications as COVID-19 active cases near the 7,000 mark.

Battling a relentless rise in infections, unofficially dubbed as a “super surge” by some sectors, the city has categorized 18 barangays as “critical” with 71 others deemed “high risk.”

Considered “moderate risk” are 58 barangays.

As of September 5, 2021 Sunday, the city recorded 6,712 active cases with 586 new ones. Total confirmed cases stand at 39,983 with 1,246 deaths (2 new), and 32,025 recoveries (80 new).

Davao City Vaccination Cluster reported that as of September 1, 2021, 340,050 individuals are now fully vaccinated with 605,434 getting their 1st dose.

The city needs to inoculate at least 1.2 million to achieve herd immunity.

The barangay classifications are: 

CRITICAL RISK BARANGAYS [18]: 4-A, 27-C, 32-D, 33-D, 38-D, Bago Aplaya, Baguio Proper, Baracatan, Buda, Cadalian, Calinan Proper, Lasang, Leon Garcia, Sr. (Agdao), Mudiang, Subasta, Talomo River (Calinan), Tibuloy, Wines.

HIGH RISK BARANGAYS [56]: 3-A, 7-A, 10-A, 15-B, 16-B, 17-B, 19-B, 20-B, 21-C, 24-C, 25-C, 34-D, 35-D, A. Angliongto, Sr., Alambre (Toril), Baliok, Bangkas Heights, Bato (Toril), Binugao, Bucana, Buhangin Proper, Bunawan Proper, Cabantian, Catalunan Grande, Catalunan Pequeño, Communal, Daliao, Dumoy, Gov. As repeatedly reminded by Mayor Sara Duterte, Dabawenyos must consistently observe the Minimum Public Health Standards (MPHS) particularly ‘MASK, HUGAS, IWAS + BAKUNA’ rule.
