Budget carrier Cebu Pacific announced Monday that 95% of its flying pilots and cabin crew are now vaccinated.
In a statement, the Gokongwei-led airline said it is on track to completing its employee inoculation by October this year.
“We are always excited to share updates about our very own vaccination initiative because health and safety are on top of everyone’s minds now,” said Felix Lopez, Vice President for People Department at Cebu Pacific.
“It is our pleasure to keep doing what we can to ensure that our own people are protected, so our passengers will also be able to fly worry-free with us,” Lopez added.
On August 26, Cebu Pacific administered the second dose of COVID-19 vaccines for some employees through its own employee vaccination program, COVID Protect.
The second doses for the remaining employees are expected to be administered in September.
To date, 93% of CEB’s total workforce have been inoculated.
The COVID Protect program is part of the Gokongwei Group's initiative for all its business units. Through this, the airline said its employees receive free inoculation for themselves and their dependents, as well as its third-party workers.
