Caloocan fire hurts 2, razes 10 houses

A fire destroyed roughly 10 homes and left two people injured early morning of January 25 on Villa Maria Street in Bisig ng Kabataan, Barangay 2, Caloocan City.
Ronel Pavadora, 25, who suffered a cut to his right brow, was one of the victims, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). Additionally, a 17-year-old boy suffered a right foot injury.
They are both Barangay 2 residents.
The BFP reports that the fire was given a first alarm at about 3:37 a.m. At roughly 3:57 in the morning, the second alarm went off, and about 5:40 a.m. It was under control.
Around 5:58 in the morning, firefighters extinguished the fire.
The houses in the neighborhood were made of light materials, according to the Caloocan City Fire Station, so the fire spread swiftly.
According to the authorities, the fire affected about 20 families and caused property damage estimated to be worth P300,000.
The families were reportedly evacuated to Barangay 1's covered court, according to the Caloocan City government.
Investigators have not yet determined the fire's origin or cause.
