Danao wants more anti-terror training for PNP abroad

Police Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao, officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police (PNP), wants to have more anti-terrorism training for police personnel amid what he describes as innovations being done by terror groups.
During the anniversary of the PNP Explosive and Ordnance Division, Danao said coordination should be made with the United States Embassy to give more opportunities for the bomb disposal units of the police to train abroad.
"Let us have more schooling or more of this in coordination with the United States because they have plenty to share on this aspect," said Danao.
Danao said it is undeniable that terror groups have been employing innovations over the years to carry out terror attacks.
In the Philippines, he said, he witnessed the evolution of improvised explosive devices--from its rude form to the use of the cellular phone for detonation up to sticky bombs.
"There are so many innovations coming from the enemy. So let us update our knowledge for us to keep up so that we can prevent more incidents like what happened in the past," said Danao.
