Landbank, Israel embassy explore partnership to advance PH dev’t

The Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) and the Israel Embassy investigated potential areas of partnership to boost economic growth in the nation further to deepen bilateral ties between the Philippines and Israel.

Ilan Fluss, the Israeli ambassador to the Philippines, and Cecilia Borromeo, the president and CEO of Landbank, met to discuss how Israel's cutting-edge technologies and best practices might be adopted in the Philippines with the help of the state bank's experience in financing agricultural and development projects.

“Landbank continues to explore strategic partnerships to help advance national development. We look forward to collaborating with the government towards adopting innovative technology and approaches, especially in the agriculture sector,” said Borromeo, who was joined by Landbank’s Senior Vice President Elcid Pangilinan and Assistant Vice President Edgardo Luzano during the meeting.

Fluss was joined by members from AgroStudies, an international training facility run by Yaron Tamir and Inbal Shoval that provides agricultural internships to students from impoverished nations.

Developing a more sustainable agriculture sector in the nation was one of the goals of possible cooperation that would support qualified Filipino students to pursue advanced study and skills development training in agriculture technology and innovation in Israel.
