Love for all: This brand celebrates pride through a T-shirt
September 02, 2021 - Thursday 11:09 PM by Hermes Joy Tunac
Swedish fashion brand COS, which recently opened its first branch in the country at SM Aura Premier, collaborates with artist Coco Capitan to produce a statement T-shirt capsule collection that shares a message of love, freedom, and inclusivity.
Featuring three unique designs in Coco’s signature handwriting style, the statements on the shirts include “ALWAY LOVE BECAUSE LOVE IS LOVE,” “A BOYFRIEND CALLED MY GIRLFRIEND” and “WOULD YOU BE MY BOYFRIEND GIRL QUEER FRIEND?”
The designs are embroidered onto an organic heavy-weight cotton T-shirt to lend a boxy, structured fit and are available in unisex sizing.
According to COS, the designs are a shout-out to love in all its forms and an embrace in exploring gender orientations. Inspired by Coco’s personal relationships, the collection is now available locally.
Alongside the T-shirts, a special edition of the repurposed cotton tote will also be available. Featuring the colors of the Progress flag, the tote utilizes excess cotton from our production process—it’s durable, made to replace disposable packaging, and 100% recyclable.
COS stands together with the LGBT+ community and is committed to building a brand where everyone is free to be themselves, whomever they choose to love. Funds raised from the sales of these products will be donated to Philippines-based LGBT+ organizations such as Galang and Love Yourself.
Galang is a female-led non-profit organization working with and for economically disadvantaged LGBTQI. It seeks to support, educate & promote the fair treatment of all persons equally regardless of class, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
Love Yourself is a non-profit LGBT organization that provides safe spaces and services for the sexual, mental, and transgender communities. It aims to create a just and progressive society that treats all persons equally regardless of class, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
According to COS, 100% of proceeds from the sales of the T-shirt capsule collection and 100% profits from the sales of the Pride edition tote will be donated to the said organizations.
