Marc Gasol officially waived by Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies has waived Marc Gasol, a three-time All-Star center on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).
Gasol, a three-time All Star, was acquired by the Grizzlies along with a 2024 second-round pick and cash considerations from the Los Angeles Lakers for the draft rights to Chinese 7-foot center Wang Zhelin.
According to reports, the 36-year old will return to his hometown Spain and play for Girona, the ballclub which he owns.
Technically, Gasol ended his NBA career with the team that he first played for.
The 7-foot Gasol won Defensive Player of the Year in 2012-13 season with Memphis, and he is currently the franchise's the all-time leader in rebounds (5,942) and blocks (1,135).
Gasol was then traded to the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 trade deadline, where he won his first NBA championship.
He last played for the Lakers where he averaged career-lows of averaged career lows of 5.0 points, 4.1 rebounds in 19.1 minutes of action.
Gasol ends up with a career averages of 14.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 blocks.
