The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines reports bombing one of their towers in Mindanao.

According to the report, NGCP's Tower 65 of the Agus 2-Kibawe 138kV line in Maguing, Lanao del Sur, was bombed on December 2.

"Repair of tower 65 will commence as soon as the area is

secured," NGCP said in a statement.

NGDP said it is not the first time Tower 65 was attacked, "This transmission line segment has been unenergized since September 2021 due to sabotage of its insulators by still unknown individuals."

The NGCP said bombings like this would only increase the burden of the public as the customers will suffer service interruptions.

The management appeals to the local and national government, local community leaders, and the public to help identify the perpetrators of the bombings. NGCP also asks stakeholders to negotiate with uncooperative landowners to prevent more prolonged power interruptions.

Perpetrators of the attack are still unclear to authorities.

The bombing is the second incident in three months involving the towers of NGCP in Lanao del Sur.

According to NCGP, an explosion in September in Buadiposo-Buntong town. The explosion injured seven soldiers and two linemen.
