The struggle continues for the new-look Los Angeles Lakers.

Just 48 hours after being beaten by the Golden State Warriors, Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard went against each other on the bench during the second quarter of their matchup with the Phoenix Suns on Friday (Saturday, Manila time).

Davis appeared to shout something at Howard. However, Dwight seemed to have ignored AD to which the latter did not appreciate.

When Howard stood up during their heated exchange, his arm was grabbed by Davis and they had to be separated by their teammates.

The altercation came after the Suns outscored the Lakers 34-18 midway through the second period.

The Suns would go on to beat the Lakers, 115-105, as Phoenix handed LA their back-to-back losses.

Howard downplayed the encounter after the game, insisting that he and Davis "squashed" their situation.

"We squashed it right then and there, we just had a disagreement about something on the floor," Howard said.

"We're both just very passionate. We got it out of the way, we're grown men, things happen. But we already talked and squashed it. There's no issue between me and him. That's my brother, that's my teammate."
