The Department of Foreign Affairs announced that a record-breaking voter turnout rate of 64.18% has been registered in the 30-day Overseas Voting (OV) for the 2022 National and Local Philippine Elections in Hong Kong.

The Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC) of the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong successfully transmitted to COMELEC the Certificate of Canvass for all Foreign Service Posts in China at 2:58 PM last May 16.

Philippine Consul General to Hong Kong Raly L. Tejada announced this is a total of 60,252 voters, out of 93,886 registered Filipino voters in Hong Kong who participated in this year's overseas voting.

Consul General Tejada expressed his appreciation to the Filipino Community in Hong Kong for their patience and perseverance that made this year’s elections a big success, despite the limitations and restrictions due to the 5th Covid wave in Hong Kong.

He also commended all Philippine Consulate General personnel and election volunteers for their hard work and unquestionable integrity.

“Even the Hong Kong Police was impressed with the orderly and efficient manner by which we conducted these elections. With a record (AES) voter turn-out of more than 60k - the 2022 overseas election in Hong Kong is certainly one for the books!”, he added.
