In two separate anti-illegal drug operations in Cebu City on Monday, police officers detained two drug dealers and recovered 1.26 kilograms of suspected shabu worth around P8.5 million.
The suspects were identified by the Central Visayas Regional Police Office as city residents Vincent Rodriguez, alias JV, and Jaime Copreros Caligner.
Around 8:33 p.m., Rodriguez was apprehended by Cebu City police in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pasil's Sitio Mahayahay.
In the fight against illegal drugs, Rodriguez, whom the police referred to as a "high-value" person, turned over 1.5 kilos of suspected shabu worth P7.17 million.
Around 2:10 a.m., Caligner was taken into custody after a similar buy-bust operation within Sitio Japer, Barangay Quiot, yielded 210 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.42 million.
Drug charges in violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have already been filed against the detained suspects.
