Franchise owner Glen Taylor confirmed that the Wolves "parted ways" with Gersson Rosas in a two-sentence statement.

"As an organization, we remain committed to building a winning team that our fans and city can be proud of," Taylor said.

This news comes amid a change in ownership, with Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore taking over as the majority owners.

Rosas, who was hired in May 2019 after a long tenure with the Houston Rockets, drew a lot of controversy from the players when he picked Toronto Raptors assistant coach Chris Finch as an immediate midseason replacement for then-head coach Ryan Saunders instead of considering their in-house assistant coach David Vanterpool.

Rosas also ran in with former Wolves forward Juancho Hernangomez after barring him to suit up for his native country of Spain in Tokyo Olympics, which blindsided the national team since he had already flown with them in Tokyo.

He was responsible for the roster overhaul, including the arrival of D'Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley via trade and drafting no.1 pick Anthony Edwards in 2020.

The Wolves have recently been rumored as the top suitor for Ben Simmons, who has been the top player involved in trade rumors.

The Wolves finished last season with a 23-49 record.
