
22K indigents get P175-M PCSO medical aid in June

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) released over PHP175.26 million medical assistance to 22,539 eligible beneficiaries nationwide in June.
Citing the latest data released on Friday, the PCSO said the funds were released to beneficiaries through the agency's Medical Access Program (MAP).

In Luzon, the beneficiaries include 2,737 indigents from the National Capital Region who received PHP40.9 million worth of assistance; 5,408 from Northern and Central Luzon who were given PHP40.5 million; 5,546 from the Southern Tagalog and Bicol Region who received PHP35.1 million.
In the Visayas, 4,518 individuals received PHP31.4 million in medical aid, while 4,330 individuals received PHP27 million in Mindanao.
The MAP, formerly known as the Individual Medical Assistance Program, is designed to augment the medical assistance for indigent Filipinos, particularly for hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant medicines.
The program is funded by revenues from PCSO games nationwide.
