5 Chinese busted for illegal detention in Parañaque City

On March 5, five Chinese people were arrested for unlawfully detaining another Chinese at a hotel and casino in Parañaque City.

Jiang Lincheng, 25, and Ding Fei, 24, both restaurant employees; Wa Yazhou, 30, a supermarket employee; Li Siyuan, 32; and Chen Liqiang, 36, a merchant were named as suspects by the police.

According to the investigation, the suspects were arrested at about 4:44 p.m. at the Okada Manila Resort in Paranaque City's New Coastal Drive, Barangay Tambo.

Authorities said the suspects held a guy they only identified as Lin Mingshan inside Room 15025 of the hotel and forced him to pay a P500,000 debt.

The suspects took the victim out of the hotel and onto a waiting vehicle, according to the police, who claimed that this aroused hotel security and surveillance personnel.

According to the authorities, Mingshan yelled for assistance, leading to his rescue and the arrest of the culprits.
