8 Abu Sayyaf members surrender in Sulu

In the province of Sulu, eight members of the Abu Sayyaf Group have turned themselves in and returned to the fold of law.

The 1103rd Infantry Brigade's interim commander, Colonel Taharuddin Ampatuan, helped six of the eight Abu Sayyaf thugs surrender.

When they gave themselves up on March 15 at Camp Bud Datu in Tagbak village, Indanan, Sulu, they turned over six guns.

On the same day, the final two turned into Brigadier General Giovanni Francia, head of the 1102nd Infantry Brigade. 

Mayor Nurshamier Halun of the Kalingalan Caluang Municipality witnessed the surrender.

The joint efforts of local government agencies and the security sector enabled the two to surrender.
