
Actor Robin Padilla leads Comelec’s partial and official canvassing results

ACTOR and first-time politician Robin Padilla continued to lead the senatorial elections based on the partial and official canvassing results released by the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) from four regions in the country.
The Commission on Elections, sitting as the chair of the NBOC, canvassed the votes for senators and party-list groups that came from several areas in the National Capital Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and the Central Luzon.
The NBOC’s National Tally Sheet Report Number 2 showed Robin Padilla leading the way with 13,231,228. He is followed by returning Senator Loren Legarda with 12,290,805, and in third is broadcaster Raffy Tulfo with 12,223,867.
Rounding up the top 12 are Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian (10,427,847); former Sen. Chiz Escudero (10,403,405); Cong. Allan Peter Cayetano (9,852,390); former Public Works Secretary Mark Villar (9,799,932); Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri (9,610,489), Sen. Joel Villanueva (9,488,272); returning Sen. JV Ejercito (8,005,848); opposition Sen. Risa Hontiveros (7,826,216); and former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada (7,678,819)
The NBOC said that as of Wednesday night, those canvassed were COCs from San Juan, Batanes, Las Piñas, Catanduanes, Romblon, Zambales, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Sur, Camiguin, Kalinga, Siquijor, Biliran, Malabon, Pasig, Marinduque, Valenzuela, Tarlac, Guimaras, Marikina, Dinagat Islands, Benguet, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Baguio City, Ifugao, La Union, Occidental Mindoro, Aurora, Parañaque, Iligan City, Navotas, Aklan, Lanao del Norte, Sorsogon, Sarangani, Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, Rizal, Southern Leyte, Abra, Pasay City, Bulacan, Antique, Albay, Camarines Norte, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Masbate, Zamboanga Sibugay, Apayao, Negros Orriental, Davao Oriebtal, Mountain Porvince, Quirino, Davao de Oro, Pampanga, Batangas, Eastern Samar, Agusan del Norte, Capiz, Sultan Kudarat, Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, Bacolod City, Cebu, Negros Occidental, and Misamis Occidental.
Among the overseas voting, those canvassed came from Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Lebanon, Oman, Brunei, Agana, Thailand, Athens, Taiwan, Bahrain, United Kingdom, Japan, and Spain.
Acting Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco on Thursday said the poll body planned to proclaim the 12 winning senators in the May 9 polls early next week.
The event will be followed by the proclamation of the 63 winning party-list groups.
