
Anti-drug ops net 24 drugs suspects in QC, Malabon

In a series of anti-drug operations starting on March 7 in Malabon City and Quezon City, police apprehended 24 suspects and seized illegal substances valued at more than P324,000.
On March 7, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) conducted its anti-illegal drug campaign, which led to the arrest of 21 suspected drug users.
They also seized marijuana and shabu worth P270,400.
The QCPD Novaliches Station (PS 4) carried out one of the buy-busts in Sitio Aguardiente, Barangay Sta. Monica, Novaliches, Quezon City, at around 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
Dexter Cuenco, Grace Balisi, and Remeo Balisi were all detained during the operation and produced P95,200 worth of "shabu."
On the same day, three other guys were also detained, and P53,720 worth of suspected shabu was recovered by the Malabon City Police Station (MCPS).
Gilbert Haban, 36, of Navotas City; John Willie Bartolome, 23; and Joh Ezekiel Noga, 19, both of Caloocan City, were named as suspects by MCPS chief Colonel Amante Daro.
They were captured at P. Road Aquino, Barangay Tugatog, Malabon City, in a targeted entrapment operation around 12:45 in the morning.
A purported shabu of 7.9 grams, a yellow currency purse, and the proceeds of the buy-bust were all taken from the accused.
All the suspects will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
