After witnessing the successful groundbreaking of three Super Health Centers in the province of Aklan, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go then visited the town of Ibajay and attended its Ati-Ati Coronation Night, capping off the series of activities he personally attended on Saturday, January 21.

Go delivered a brief speech and congratulated the local government for the successful comeback of the Ibajay Ati-Ati Festival after two years of having the festival activities practically limited to virtual events due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Ang hirap ng pinagdaanan natin in the past two years.

Continuing his remarks, Go also reminded the public to remain supportive of the government’s pandemic efforts. The senator likewise reaffirmed that he will remain compassionate and continue assisting his fellow Filipinos in need.

Meanwhile, Go, who serves as Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, reiterated the need to prioritize one’s health. For this reason, Go encouraged those who have health concerns to avail of medical assistance from the Malasakit Center at Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital in Kalibo.

First established in 2018, the Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop designed to assist particularly poor and indigent patients to reduce their medical expenses to the lowest amount possible through the help of agencies with existing medical assistance programs.

Still in line with his efforts to strengthen the country’s healthcare system, Go also supported the construction of nine Super Health Centers in the province, including in Ibajay, Balete, Batan, Malay, Nabas, New Washington; and three others which he personally witnessed the groundbreaking of earlier that day — in Kalibo, Tangalan, and Numancia.

Services offered in Super Health Centers include database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray and ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service, oncology centers, physical therapy and rehabilitation center and telemedicine, where remote diagnosis and treatment of patients will be done.

The more we should invest sa ating healthcare system right now.

Earlier that day, Go also visited the province of Iloilo where he attended the groundbreaking of Maasin Super Health Center, provided assistance to tornado victims in Oton, and celebrated Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City.
