Caloocan police nab fake DSWD employee

A person posing as an employee for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was arrested by the Caloocan police for allegedly duping beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Caloocan police chief Col. Ferdinand Del Rosario identified the suspect as Myra Mangitngit.
She was arrested in an entrapment operation launched by police operatives in Barangay 12, Caloocan on Wednesday.
The suspect allegedly scammed 4Ps beneficiaries by posing as a Product Development Manager for DSWD and asking for a P3,050 processing fee and a P100 membership fee.
The suspect also demanded fees for medical examinations, documentation, RT-PCR tests, nameplates, and uniforms.
She was arrested upon a complaint filed to the police by the legitimate DSWD product development manager in Navotas, police said.
The suspect will face charges of syndicated estafa, swindling, and usurpation of authority.
