The 41-year old pop star recently expressed her support for her Mickey Mouse Club co-star Britney Spears.

“I would love to [talk to Britney]. I would always be open to that. It’s a subject that I want to be careful of because I’d never want to speak out of turn about somebody that I have so much respect and admiration for,” she said in an exclusive interview with Enrique Santos.

Christina Aguilera's support came two months after the red carpet  incident when she snubbed reporters in the Latin Grammys when asked about Britney being free from the 13-year conservatorship, "I can’t… but I’m happy for her.”

Of course, the alleged "snobbish interview" landed on Britney quite negatively. She took to Instagram and expressed her disappointment with her fellow pop star.

"I love and adore everyone who supported me… but refusing to speak when you know the truth is equivalent to a lie,” she wrote on her Instagram
post. “3 years being in a corrupt, abusive system, yet why is it such a difficult topic for people to talk about??? I’m the one who went through it."

Sources close to Aguilera said she wants to talk to Britney about this privately and perhaps clear the air.

In the recent interview, Aguilera clarified with Santos that she is open to connecting with Britney again.

"I couldn’t be happier for her. Every woman deserves to feel empowered and owns that for themselves. However they see fit,” she explained. “I will always be here to reach out to [or] whatever. I love being able to connect like that with other women.”
