A joint-police operation of the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group resulted in the arrest of a member of the Regional Mobile Force Batallion, Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO BARMM), who is facing carnapping charges in Purok Pinnen Rosales Street, Rosary Heights VI, Cotabato City.

The police authorities identified the arrested suspect as Patrolman Jassim Muhammad Plaza Aking, who is facing two counts of carnapping in the Regional Trial Court.

The authorities made the arrest based on an arrest warrant issued by the court for R.A. No. 10883, or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.

IMEG Officer in Charge of Police Brigadier General Samuel Nacion revealed that the carnapping charges stemmed from two civilians who accused the police officer of taking away their motorcycle and Strada pick-up, respectively.
