DepEd highlights inclusive, fair quality education in IDE 2023
January 25, 2023 - Wednesday 2:01 PM by GDM

The Department of Education (DepEd) celebrated the annual International Day of Education (IDE) and highlighted the initiatives to realize Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 – Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education.
“This year’s theme ‘To Invest in People, Prioritize Education’ affirms that the new administration is on the right track. At the UN Transforming Education Summit in September last year, President Marcos announced our commitment to recover the learning losses from the pandemic and rebuild our education to be more inclusive, relevant and resilient to future shocks and disruptions,” DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte said.
Duterte encouraged the public to ensure the education system of the Philippines empowers the youth to “navigate lives” and uphold 21st century skills.
“Let us work together to ensure that our education system empowers our young people to navigate lives, challenges with 21st century skills, resilience, leadership, and strength of character as they join us in reshaping and rebuilding a better and stronger Philippines,” she added.
On January 30, the Department of Education is set to bare its plans through the 2023 Basic Education Report. The agency will also discuss its progress, especially for the K-12 curriculum review.
