"See you next conference."

This is what James Yap said when he addressed his future in the league.

The two-time PBA MVP said that he still has enough tank left for the next conference, although it is up to the Rain or Shine management if they still want his services.

"Pero tingnan natin … management na bahala," said the 41-year old after the Elasto Painters’ 129-116 defeat to San Miguel Beer in their final game of the season on Friday.

Yap made his on-court return this year after signing a one-conference ahead of the 2023 Governors’ Cup after he took a leave to focus on his successful bid to become a city councilor in San Juan.

It was deemed as a successful return for Yap since he suited up all Rain or Shine's games this conference.

"Mas kundisyon nga ako ngayon kesa nung last bubble. Mas healthy ako ngayon. Mas magaan ‘yung feeling ko. Tignan natin. Management na bahala. Sila Boss Raymond [Yu] na at Boss Terry [Que] at si Coach Yeng [Guiao], of course,” said Yap.

“Sa ngayon, okay naman. Masasabi ko na healthy ako ngayon. ‘Yun talaga ‘yung iniisip ko. Nakakahiya naman sa management na pagbalik ko, hindi ka nakasuot (ng uniform). Nandiyan ka sa game pero hindi ka naka-uniform. Naka-civilian ka. Sa ngayon, okay naman."
