After the consistent, top-notch performances, Idol Hopeful Khimo Gumatay won as the grand winner for Idol Philippines Season 2.

Khimo Goemon Gumatay, a self-made and committed artist, climbed his way up to the top three with Ryssi and Kice to battle their voices and accumulate votes from the show's judges and the public.

Gumatay totaled an 89 percent score of combined votes, leaving a huge gap between him and his co-artists.

(For the people who believed in me during my journey in Idol Philippines, I sincerely thank you all)

He likewise expressed his gratitude to his team that never left his side since day one when he entered the competition.

(Expect that I will improve even more to give the honor to what you gave me in Idol Philippines Season 2. Thank you very much to the people of Idol Philippines; you are the real IDOL)

Besides bagging the title as the grand winner, he was rewarded with a brand new house and lot worth P2.5 million, an ABS-CBN recording contract, a P1 million cash prize, and a P3 million business franchise package.

Gumatay concluded.

(I hope you will continue to support me in this journey because I always carry your support whenever I go on stage. This honor is for you too!)

For the finale night, Gumatay sang Jem Macatuno's "Bagong Simula" as his journey track while he performed "My Time," an original composition by Jeremy Glinoga.
