The Bureau of Customs-Port of Subic destroyed illicit cigarettes and overstaying containers of assorted household goods and personal effects amounting to P95 million.
The Port condemned 9x40’ containers, three of which contain illicit cigarettes consigned to Goldlink Int’l Subic Inc. that were seized last year with a total market value of Php 95,205,000.00. The remaining shipments were overstaying containers.
The shipments were destroyed through shredding, crushing, and dumping in an accredited Greenleaf 88 Non-hazardous Waste Disposal facility in Pampanga.
The Port assures the public that it will continue to implement measures to expedite the disposal of all overstaying containers to ensure the unhampered flow of goods while fighting against smuggling.
