NCRPO confiscates gun replica and a hand grenade from pedestrian

Police Major General Felipe Natividad, the Regional Director of Metro Manila, lauded the anti-criminality campaign and follow-up operation conducted by the operatives of Pasig City Police Station- Eastern Police District.

The operation yielded a hand grenade and a handgun (replica) at about 2:30 pm on May 16, 2022, along Farmer’s Avenue Brgy Malinao, Pasig City.

According to the initial investigation, the suspect, Jezreel Bierra, was arrested after a hold-up incident in Pasig.

The police were locating the suspect when they came across the suspect walking along Farmers Avenue, Brgy. Manilao, Pasig City, with a handgun tucked on his waist, a handle protrudes.

The team approached the suspect and confronted the latter for publicly exhibiting a handgun and asked for necessary documents but failed to present any. 

This prompted police officers to arrest him and confiscate the said handgun, which was later found to be a gun replica. Upon frisking, a hand grenade was also recovered inside his sling bag.

For proper disposition, the grenade was brought to Explosive Ordnance Disposal- Pasig CPS.

Complaints about the illegal possession of a hand grenade and handgun (replica) in relation to BP 881 Omnibus Election Code will be prepared against Bierra.
