EJ Obiena missed the podium in Stockholm Diamond League held on Thursday (Friday morning, Manila time), as he finished sixth in the competition.

Obiena, who clinched gold in the recently-concluded Sweden tiff, only cleared the 5.73m bar.

After clearing 5.92m earlier this week, Obiena failed to jump pass 5.83m in three attempts.

Hometown bet Armand Duplantis ruled the competition with a new outdoor pole vault world record.

Duplantis only needed two tries to clear the 6.16m bar.

USA's Christopher Nilsen ended up in second place with a 5.93m clearance, while Thiago Braz of Brazil finished third with an identical 5.93m clearance.

However, Nilsen was one attempt over Braz in the 5.93m bar.

Braz was the runner-up over Obiena in their last competition.
