Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz was not spared from the recent spike of COVID-19 cases.
Diaz revealed that she tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday, as cases rose in the Philippines due to the Omicron variant.
The weightlifting star shared a screenshot of her RT-PCR test on Instagram story, reminding everyone to stay safe and follow the minimum health protocols.
Kahit po ako, nagpositive na po. Ingat po tayong lahat. Magpalakas at sundin lahat ng health protocols," she wrote.
Diaz recently got her booster shot entering 2022.
The 30-year old is currently focused on her preparation for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics under the watchful eye of her head coach and fiance Julius Naranjo.
Before sharing her positive COVID-19 result, Diaz founf some time to cosplay as Luisa Madrigal from Disney animated film 'Encanto'.
"Tinatry ko maging Luisa Madrigal kasi sabi niyo ako ‘yun, kaso waley di pasok makeup, hair and outfit ko,” she wrote, as she also uploaded a picture of her flexed biceps along with Luisa.
