"Orphan" premiered in cinemas in 2009. We were introduced to an eerie yet mystifying character named Esther, played by Isabelle Fuhrman. She was an adopted child of Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John (Peter Sarsgaard). And now, Esther is back with the same actress who played her the first time.

The first look of the upcoming prequel "Orphan: The First Kill" shows Fuhrman reprising the role of an adult killer posing as a child. But, for the benefit of those who haven't watched the movie, Esther turns out to be a 33-year-old woman suffering from hypopituitarism: a rare case where the pituitary gland doesn't produce enough hormones that could affect the height and overall growth hormones.

Using her case to her advantage, Esther either seduces the father of her foster family or kills them in hindsight. Unfortunately, she died in the first film, leaving no hope for sequels. But the prequel will showcase Esther in her earlier years under the name of Leena Klammer this time. The forthcoming movie follows the story of Klammer impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family after she successfully escapes from a psychiatric facility. In a similar way to the first movie, Leena gaslights the whole family into believing that their mother is suffering from paranoia.

Fuhrman, now 25, will once again play the role of an adult killer posing as a child. Questions resurface online, asking how the film can convince audiences that the actress playing the part is the same age as she was in the first one.

"For me it's like, we know the secret of the first film, so the fun of bringing Isabelle Fuhrman back into the role - which was a whole process to get approved - that is a challenge in and of itself," director William Brent Bell shared, adding that the production process would involve a little CGI without relying upon "forced perspective."

Fuhrman also shared that reprising the role was not an easy task to begin with. "There's never been an adult actress who reprised a role she played as child," the actress shared, stating: "And that was exceptionally difficult and really fun to do, because when I was a kid and I played Esther, I was constantly playing a 33-year-old hiding herself as a kid while I was also 10, and this time, it was like, 'here's a little weight off my shoulders,' since I just have to pretend I'm 10, because I'm already an adult."

Alongside Fuhrman, the cast includes Julia Stiles, Rossif Sutherland, Matthew Finlan, and Morgan Giraudet. There is no scheduled release date yet for Orphan: First Kill.
