Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is set to take on Jaber Zayani, the Filipino standout’s former sparring partner in Riyadh in February next year.
The bout will be a non-sanctioned eight-round contest using regular 8 oz. gloves and will be held at King Fahd Stadium.
“I personally negotiated with the senator together with my team and after months of talks, we finally agreed to a face-off next year. He already signed the contract,” said Zayani, who hails from France.
“When the senator signed the deal, I told him to prepare well because I’m going to give him a real fight. He then told me, ‘you better be prepared,’” he went on.
Zayani served as Pacquiao’s training partner when the latter prepared for Keith Thurman in 2019.
An unbeaten lightweight, Zayani flaunts a pro record of 18 wins against 0 losses. He has dealt a total of 11 knockouts throughout his career.
