A Philippine Air Force plane ran aground as it landed at the Laoag Airport Friday morning.
PAF Spokesman Col. Maynard Mariano said all five crew on board the plane were safe and unharmed.
In a statement, Mariano said the incident occurred at 10:32 A.M. as the NC212i plane with tail Nr 2119 blew its tire during landing roll at Laoag Airport.
“The pilots performed an emergency procedure and shut down the engine at the runway. All aircrew are safe and no injuries were reported,” he said.
Mariano said the incident is currently being investigated.
“The PAF will continue to adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure the safe operation of its aircraft and equipment,” he said.
The NC212i is a light, fixed-wing monoplane design with two high-mounted main wings and a conventional tail.
