
Passenger yields P40.8-M worth of shabu inside NAIA

On Sunday, shabu, also known as methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, was seized from a passenger at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport by the Bureau of Customs-NAIA, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG).
The passenger, a Malagasy native, flew Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 644 from Hong Kong to NAIA and was originally from Madagascar, an East African country.
Police discovered a peculiar image within the traveler's bag, and upon closer examination, six kilograms of shabu worth P40.8 million were discovered.
Investigations into the passenger are ongoing.
