PCG, locals save 18 from troubled boat

At least 18 people from a boat with engine problems were rescued off the coast of Carles town in the province of Iloilo on Saturday, January 21.
The motorized boat Prince and Mae's engine malfunctioned around 11 a.m. Saturday, so the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and locals saved the passengers in a sizable fishing region in the Visayan Sea.
The PCG stated in its assessment from Sunday that each passenger was in good physical condition.
Isla de Gigantes, a popular tourist site, and Lantangan, one of the island barangays, were the two destinations that needed to be more evident.
The PCG-Iloilo found the stricken boat and towed it to Isla de Gigantes for repair with the assistance of locals.
