Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the country, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has encouraged the public to obtain their primary and booster vaccinations against the coronavirus.

On January 13, yesterday, the beauty queen shared an update on her health via her Instagram. She emphasized the necessity of vaccines. She admitted that even though she is now COVID-19 negative, she still has to deal with some of the disease's symptoms.

"16 days now since I got covid and although I’m already negative I’m still managing some symptoms. Now I know some of you are thinking.."e kahit pala vaccinated ka, magkakasakit ka pa rin e" pero that is wrong way to think about it. Pano na lang kung hindi ako nagpa vaccine? Kung ngayon nga na vaccinated ako, walang comorbidity, healthy pero tinamaan ako ng ganito kalala, pano pa kaya kung pinili kong hindi magpavaccine? Siguro mas malala na yung kalagayan ko. Or worse" she said on her Instagram stories.

Pia reminded her fans that COVID-19 can affect anyone at any age, and individuals should not put their lives in danger because of the pandemic. She also added that while a vaccinated person can still get sick, the shots give them a "better chance" of combating the coronavirus. "Yes, even with the vaccine you can still get COVID but you have better chance of fighting it. At makakatulong ka pa sa mga frontliner ng mabawasan yung mga naoospital. Madalas sa fatalities ay galing sa mga hindi nagpabakuna.

Then she added, "Magpa vaccine po tayo. At magpabooster."

On January 7, Pia Wurtzbach shared that she had tested positive for COVID-19 while visiting her family in the United Kingdom. She has since made a recovery from the disease. The beauty queen flew to the UK for Christmas and decided not to stay in a hotel since she wanted to spend time with her family.
