Three inmates escape New Bilibid Prison; one killed in pursuit operation

The Bureau of Corrections reported on Monday that three “armed and dangerous” inmates escaped the New Bilibid Prison’s Maximum Security Compound.
The BuCor identified the escaped inmates as Arwin Villeza Bio (35), convicted of murder and attempted murder; Darkilou Yosores Falcon (34), convicted of robbery with homicide and pending double murder case; and Pacific Villaruz Adlawan (49), convicted of frustrated homicide and drug use, with pending homicide case.
The bureau said the escaped prisoners are considered armed and dangerous and urged the public to notify police or BuCor authorities of information on them at their hotline numbers 09178049362 or 09186001081.
According to the police report, initial probe showed that the three inmates fired upon duty guards and exited Sitio Magdaong, NBP Reservation Area.
BuCor spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag in an update on the afternoon, said one inmate ran towards the creek of MCX Hiway and were cornered by elements of the bureau and Muntinlupa police.
The inmate was neutralized and was identified as Adlawan, Authorities also recovered a 9mm pistol with live bullets and spent shells near his body.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the bureau has yet to file its report on the said incident, but he already directed the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct its own probe into the recent riots at the Bilibid and the escape of the prisoners.
He added: “I will also recommend to the Office of the President that disciplinary action be taken against BuCor officials who may be found guilty of gross neglect of duty.”
